In a dramatic escalation of tensions in the Middle East, Iran launched a barrage of missiles targeting Israel, with one striking near the Tel Aviv headquarters of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad. The attack left a massive crater in what appears to be a parking lot, mere meters away from a cinema complex.

A video circulating on social media, geolocated by CNN, shows the devastating impact of the missile strike. The footage, captured from a high-rise apartment building in Herzliya, reveals the immense destruction caused by the attack, with several vehicles covered in soil and debris.

Israel’s advanced defense systems, Iron Dome and Arrow, successfully intercepted most of the missiles. However, some managed to penetrate the shield, resulting in minor damage. The missile strike was in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Israeli military strikes. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack, stating that Iran made a “big mistake” and warning that it “will pay for it.”

Guy Nir, spokesperson for the Israeli embassy in India, echoed Netanyahu’s sentiments, emphasizing that Tehran would face an “appropriate response.” Nir stressed that Israel’s response would be “strategic and pinpointed,” rather than a full-scale war.

In contrast, Iran’s Ambassador to India Iraj Elahi warned that Tehran would strike Israel again unless tensions were de-escalated. Elahi referred to Netanyahu as “the Hitler of our time,” accusing him of “brutality and hostility.”

The United States, Israel’s long-standing ally, has condemned the missile strike, labeling it a “significant escalation.” National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan pledged support for Israel, vowing to stand by the nation and back any retaliatory measures.

As tensions continue to rise, concerns grow over the potential for further conflict in the region.
