A shocking turn of events has unfolded in the Mahalakshmi murder case, with Bengaluru police identifying one of her colleagues, Mukti, as the prime suspect. According to sources, Mukti had expressed strong opposition to Mahalakshmi’s closeness with another man, whose identity remains undisclosed.
The gruesome discovery of Mahalakshmi’s maggot-infested body parts in her refrigerator has sent shockwaves across the nation. The 29-year-old saleswoman’s body was found chopped into over 50 pieces in her one-bedroom apartment in Bengaluru’s Malleshwaram on September 21.
Mukti’s phone has been switched off, and police efforts are underway to track him down near the Odisha-West Bengal border. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed that the main suspect hails from Odisha but had been living in Bengaluru.
Mahalakshmi’s post-mortem report revealed that her body was chopped into 59 pieces. Forensic experts are examining fingerprints found on the refrigerator and conducting toxicology studies to determine if she was poisoned before her death.
Mahalakshmi’s family last saw her on Rakshabandhan festival. Her mother, Meena Rana, recounted the horrific discovery: “The owner of the building informed me about a foul smell. When I opened the door, I saw Mahalakshmi’s body cut into pieces.”
As the police continue their pursuit of Mukti, the case remains a disturbing reminder of violence against women. Bengaluru police are working tirelessly to bring justice to Mahalakshmi and her family.
