Sub-inspector Sangram Malkar, who led the investigation, revealed that Riya’s mother arrived in India with her children and stayed illegally by procuring fake documents. She married Arvind Barde, an Amravati resident, claiming to be from West Bengal, and obtained passports for her family using fake birth certificates.

Verification of Riya’s documents exposed discrepancies, listing three different places of birth: North 24 Parganas, Hooghly (West Bengal), and Achalpur (Amravati district, Maharashtra).

Riya has been associated with multiple production houses and has worked in several adult films. Previously, she was arrested by Mumbai Police in a prostitution-related case.

The police are currently searching for Riya’s brother and sister, while her parents are reportedly residing in Qatar. The case has been registered under various sections of the BNSS for cheating and forgery, as well as the Foreigners Act.

This incident highlights concerns over illegal immigration and document forgery, sparking further investigation into similar cases.
