Rajinikanth, the iconic Tamil cinema superstar, was hospitalized at Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Monday night due to stomach pain. His wife, Latha, has provided a reassuring update on his health.
According to hospital sources, Rajinikanth’s condition is stable, and he will undergo an elective procedure under the care of interventional cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish. The procedure aims to address digestive discomfort near his abdomen.
When contacted by News18, Latha briefly commented on her husband’s health, saying, “All is well.” A hospital source further revealed to PTI that Rajinikanth is likely to be discharged by Tuesday evening.
The news of Rajinikanth’s hospitalization prompted an outpouring of well-wishes from fans and prominent figures. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin took to social media to wish the actor a speedy recovery.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth recently attended the audio and preview launch of his upcoming film, Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and Abhirami.
Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth’s 170th film, is slated for release on October 10. Additionally, the actor is currently filming Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, a gangster drama featuring an ensemble cast, including Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Upendra.
Production for Coolie is underway in Visakhapatnam and Chennai, with the film’s announcement video generating significant buzz due to its monochrome visuals and catchy song, D.I.S.C.O. The film’s release is anticipated sometime next year.
