Bollywood icon Govinda experienced a shocking incident early this morning when he accidentally shot himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. The mishap, which took place around 4:45 a.m., occurred as Govinda was preparing to leave his residence for a scheduled flight to Kolkata. His manager, Shashi Sinha, provided details of the event, explaining that the actor was placing the revolver back into its case when it discharged unexpectedly.

The bullet struck Govinda in the knee, prompting his family to rush him to CRITICare Hospital in Mumbai for urgent medical treatment. After undergoing surgery, doctors successfully removed the bullet, and Govinda’s condition is now stable. To reassure his concerned fans, Govinda released an audio message from the hospital, expressing his gratitude to the doctors and his supporters. “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted now. I thank the doctors and for the prayers of my fans,” the actor said, putting minds at ease.

Mumbai Police Launch Investigation

Following the incident, the Mumbai Police swiftly initiated an investigation. Officers visited the actor’s residence, confiscated his revolver, and are working to understand the precise circumstances that led to the accidental firing. Early reports suggest Govinda may have been either cleaning the firearm or attempting to place it in a cupboard when the revolver discharged. Authorities are treating the situation with care, ensuring all legal protocols surrounding firearm safety are reviewed.

Although initial investigations lean towards an accident, the police are leaving no stone unturned to verify whether any negligence was involved. Govinda, who holds a legal firearm license, will likely be interviewed once he is well enough to provide a statement. The outcome of the investigation could potentially trigger discussions around stricter gun safety protocols in India.
